Description

New Children's Home (EBD) - Tamworth Area

Ainsworth Recruitment is excited to partner with a financially robust and award-winning care group to find a dedicated and experienced Registered Manager for their brand-new children's home in the Tamworth area. This is a rare and impactful opportunity to lead a therapeutic-focused home for young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) from its very inception.

If you're passionate about shaping a safe, supportive, and empowering environment where children can truly thrive, and you're looking for an opportunity to benefit from strong, active support from a proven management team, this is the role for you.

Your Mission

As the Registered Manager, you'll be instrumental in establishing and leading this new children's home. You'll ensure the highest standards of care are delivered, driven by therapeutic principles, and fully compliant with all regulatory requirements. With plans to expand to a second property within two years, you'll also play a key role in shaping the group's growth trajectory while maintaining exemplary care.

Here's What Your Role Will Entail

Leadership & Compliance: Oversee the home's operations in full compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards (2015), safeguarding procedures, and OFSTED SCCIF. Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), ensuring prompt reporting and resolution of any safeguarding concerns. Maintain OFSTED readiness at all times, striving for and achieving a minimum rating of "Good" or "Outstanding." Implement and regularly review the home’s Statement of Purpose.

Care Delivery Excellence: Provide person-centred care and support for children aged 8-17, addressing their emotional, educational, and social needs. Support young people in overcoming challenges related to trauma or adversity, fostering positive relationships and encouraging personal growth. Collaborate with external professionals (therapists, psychologists, social workers) to develop tailored care plans. Champion children’s rights, ensuring their voice is central to decision-making processes.

Team Development & Nurturing: Recruit, train, and develop a motivated and highly skilled staff team. Provide ongoing supervision and appraisals, cultivating a positive and supportive team culture. Support staff in effectively implementing therapeutic principles in daily care. Delegate tasks efficiently, promoting clarity and accountability within the team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
