Job Title: Registered Manager - Supported Living
Salary: £43,000 to £48,000 per annum
Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Setting: Adults with Learning Disabilities, Autism, and Challenging Behaviour
Overview
Compass Associates are proud to be working on a new supported living 5-bed service supporting young adults aged 18 and above. This is a rare opportunity to join a business at inception and shape a service from the ground up, with a clear plan to grow into a wider portfolio of homes. The property is fully secured and ready to trade, and the successful candidate will lead the service through CQC registration and beyond. For a manager who wants ownership, autonomy, and the chance to build something from day one, this is a standout opportunity with genuine progression to area management as the business expands.
The Role
As Registered Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day to day running of the service, working closely with the Responsible Individual to bring the home through CQC registration and into operation. You will build your own staff team, develop relationships with local commissioners and social workers, and shape the culture of the service from the outset. This role offers high autonomy, with the Responsible Individual providing support rather than day to day oversight.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
