Client Overview

This organization provides domiciliary care services, dedicated to delivering high-quality, person-centered support. The service operates under the regulation of the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Role Summary

The Registered Manager will lead and develop domiciliary care services, taking overall responsibility for safe, effective, and compliant operations. This role involves ensuring high-quality, person-centered care, managing people, quality, compliance, and performance, and supporting sustainable growth through effective use of service capacity. The manager will also be responsible for preparing and presenting regular KPI and capacity reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the domiciliary care service, providing leadership to care and office teams.
  • Act as the CQC Registered Manager, ensuring full compliance with CQC Fundamental Standards and relevant regulations.
  • Prepare and present regular KPI reports to senior management, identifying trends and corrective actions.
  • Maintain an accurate understanding of service capacity, producing reports and developing solutions for restrictions.
  • Ensure the delivery of safe, compassionate, and person-centred care, overseeing assessments and care plans.
  • Provide leadership in safeguarding adults, ensuring concerns are reported and escalated appropriately.
  • Manage staff recruitment, training, supervision, appraisal, and performance to ensure adequate and competent staffing.
  • Maintain safe systems for medication support and administration, monitoring records and investigating errors.
  • Implement and maintain an effective quality assurance program, conducting audits and managing complaints.
  • Ensure appropriate risk assessments, health and safety protocols, and emergency plans are in place.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential care and employee records, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous management or senior leadership experience within adult social care.
  • Strong experience within domiciliary/home care.
  • Good knowledge of CQC regulations and Fundamental Standards.
  • Understanding of safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act, medication management, and risk management.
  • Experience managing and developing care staff.
  • Experience conducting audits and implementing quality improvements.
  • Ability to analyze operational information and produce management reports.
  • Strong IT and administrative skills.
  • Full UK driving license and access to appropriate transport.
  • Ability to travel throughout the service area.

Preferred Skills

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a CQC Registered Manager.
  • Experience managing and growing a domiciliary care service.
  • Experience working with local-authority commissioned care.

Compensation

£37,000-£40,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications, plus 28 days' annual holiday, workplace pension, mileage paid at £0.45 per mile for approved business mileage, and ongoing training.

Location & Work Arrangement

Swindon, permanent, full-time. Participation in an on-call rota may be required.
