The Paddocks is our purpose-built supported living service in Marston Green, Solihull. It has nine self-contained apartments, designed around the sensory needs of autistic people and people with learning disabilities. Seven people already call it home, and we're looking for an exceptional Registered Manager to lead what comes next.
This is a rare chance to shape a newer service. There are new tenants and families to welcome, support plans to build through coproduction, and a fully staffed team to lead.
The role
As Registered Manager, you'll be responsible for the quality, safety and culture of the service. Day to day, that means:
- Guiding transitions, helping new tenants settle in and feel at home, working with families, commissioners and professionals
- Championing positive behaviour support, turning good practice into something the whole team lives every day
- Shaping personalised support, working with tenants and their families to plan support that promotes autonomy and helps each person achieve their potential
- Leading a flexible 24-hour team, with recruitment, induction, supervision and development
- Keeping the service outstanding, registering with CQC as manager and making sure the service is safe, compliant and inspection-ready
- Building connections, linking tenants with the local community so they can find new opportunities and activities
- Looking after the business side, including budgets, rotas and occupancy, and helping the service grow alongside the Operations Manager
- Managing a team, consisting of a Deputy Manager and Senior Support Workers

You'll work with commissioners, health professionals, benefits agencies and housing management colleagues so that support is holistic and responsive.
You won't be doing it alone
You'll be part of a wider team of colleagues across the charity, including our finance and HR teams and our other registered managers. You'll report to the Operations Manager.
We also invest in our people. That means specialist autism training, and the chance to get involved in projects around behaviour support, electronic systems and the development of practice, helping to shape how we work across the charity.
About you
You'll bring:
- Experience of managing and developing staff teams in supported living, or another care setting with autistic people, people with learning disabilities or people with other care needs
- A good knowledge of autism, positive behaviour support, the social care legislation & frameworks
- Experience of support planning, risk assessment, financial management and supporting people who present with behaviours of concern
- A Level 4 qualification in a relevant field (a Level 5 leadership and management qualification is desirable)
- The ability to lead by example, motivate others and take part in our on-call rota

- Salary of £35,956.20, progressing up a scale to £40,750.36
