Full Time - 37.5 hours per week
Priory Hospital Preston has an opportunity for a Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our team.
Based in Bartle, near Preston, Priory Hospital Preston is a 50-bedded mental health hospital, offering an extensive range of services, delivered across four wards. We can support adult males and females with acute mental health needs and eating disorders, and specialise in the management and treatment of these conditions.
Priory’s acute services aim to allow more people to be treated closer to home and we support the NHS to repatriate out-of-area patients back to local areas.
What you'll be doing
- You will be part of a compassionate team that is committed to supporting people's wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future.
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing care to patients throughout their recovery journey.
- Complete assessments, care plans, risk assessments and clinical documentation, ensuring these are regularly reviewed.
- Administer medication safely and monitor patients’ physical and mental health.
- Work closely with the MDT, patients and families to support treatment plans and positive outcomes.
- Support patients with therapeutic interventions, daily activities and their recovery goals.
- Respond appropriately to changes in patients’ presentation, escalating concerns where required.
- Contribute to a safe, supportive and therapeutic ward environment.

What you'll bring to the role
Essential for the role
- Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a valid NMC registration
- Experience of delivering safe, person-centred care within a mental health setting
- Good understanding of risk assessment, care planning and medication management.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and maintaining high standards of patient care.
The following experience would be beneficial
- Experience working within a hospital or inpatient mental health environment.
- Experience supporting patients with complex mental health needs.
- Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of recovery-focused and therapeutic approaches.
