About the Role
As a Band 5 Midwife, you will play a vital role in providing safe, compassionate, and personalized care to birthing people, babies, and their families throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and the postnatal period. You will deliver high-quality, holistic care that respects individual needs, choices, and circumstances, ensuring every family receives care with dignity, kindness, and respect.
Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will be accountable for your own practice and deliver care in line with professional standards, statutory requirements, and Trust values. Initially based within the hospital setting, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills across a variety of environments, including the birth center and community services, gaining experience in managing your own caseload and providing continuity of care.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, and personalized care to birthing people, babies, and their families throughout the antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal journey.
- Work in partnership with families, supporting informed choice, and promoting positive experiences while delivering care with dignity, respect, and kindness.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, ensuring high standards of clinical practice and effective communication with colleagues, families, and partner organizations.
- Maintain your professional competence, develop your skills and knowledge, and deliver care in line with national standards, professional requirements, and Trust values.
