Spire Claremont Hospital have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Pre Assessment team on a full-time, permanent basis.
Spire Claremont Hospital has provided first-class independent healthcare at the heart of the South Yorkshire community since 1953. Our hospital is situated among beautifully landscaped grounds in Crosspool, Sheffield and it is situated 3 miles (about 20 minutes) to the south west of Sheffield city centre.
We offer a range of services and facilities including four operating theatres, a dedicated Endoscopy Suite; and a diagnostic and imaging department with an MRI and CT scanner. Specialities include Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Urology, Gynaecology, Spinal surgery, ENT and Ophthalmology.
Key responsibilities
- Conducting comprehensive pre-operative assessments
- Triaging and assessing patients to ensure suitability for surgery
- Identifying and escalating potential clinical concerns
- Supporting safe, personalised patient care throughout the surgical pathway
- Providing clear information and reassurance to patients and families
- Working collaboratively with consultants, anaesthetists and multidisciplinary teams
- Contributing to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

You'll have:
We're looking for a nurse who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and thrives in a collaborative environment.
- Current NMC registration with no restrictions on practice
- Previous experience within a Pre-Assessment setting
- Acute healthcare experience
- Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Confidence working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Good IT and electronic patient record skills
- Phlebotomy, venepuncture and ECG competency
- Pre-Operative Assessment Association qualification or training
