Registered Nurses – Join Our Team at Marie Curie Hospice Edinburgh

We are currently recruiting several Registered Nurses to join our team at Marie Curie Hospice Edinburgh, with exciting fixed-term opportunities until August 2027.

If you’re a compassionate Registered Nurse who has been considering a move into palliative and end-of-life care, we’d love to hear from you.

Marie Curie provides specialist palliative and end-of-life care in Edinburgh, supporting people and their families when they need us most.

As part of Edinburgh’s wider strategy to support more people with a palliative diagnosis, outside of an acute hospital setting, our existing inpatient service includes intermediate palliative care beds. These beds provide 24/7 care for people at the end of their life.

These intermediate care beds support people admitted from hospital and home, where their palliative care needs require the additional support and expertise that a hospice environment can provide.

We’re looking for compassionate, adaptable and dedicated Registered Nurses to join us and help deliver high-quality, holistic and person-centred care.

Why Join This Project?

  • Be a Pioneer: Play a critical role in a new model of care — Intermediate Palliative Care Beds — designed to provide generalised palliative support with the aim to ease hospital pressures and bring care closer to home.
  • Make a Lasting Impact: Your work will directly influence future palliative care and help support over 300 patients and families in just one year.
  • Career-Enhancing Experience: Work in a unit within a multidisciplinary team, providing holistic support and care, with advanced clinical governance, and high professional visibility — ideal for those looking to build leadership or palliative skills.
  • Strong Partnership Working: Collaborate closely with NHS Lothian, Edinburgh HSCP, and other care providers in a dynamic, integrated care system.
  • Opportunities Beyond the Contract: While these are fixed-term roles, they are part of a high-profile test of change backed by significant investment and national interest. Success here opens the door to future commissioning and potential for permanent roles within palliative care.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
