Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 5 Staff Nurses to join a busy CCU and Cardiology ward in Withybush General Hospital, Haverfordwest in Pembrokeshire.

Coronary Care

Coronary Care is a 6-bedded ward specialising in Cardiology. We have 20 Cardiology beds on Ward 8 and this includes treating patients with Cardiac conditions such as heart failure, patients requiring pacemakers, and patients waiting for angiograms in Morriston Hospital. We are part of developments within Withybush to start implanting PPM and Reveal devices in patients in Pembrokeshire, cardioversions in the medical day unit.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for highly motivated individuals to work within our dynamic working environment with a passion for caring for acutely ill patients.

You must have:

  • Good communication/interpersonal skills, high levels of commitment and dedication, caring attitude, and the ability to work as part of a team are essential;
  • A desire to develop your experience and work alongside a team of staff as well as a passion for excellent patient care and outcomes;
  • The ability to do things differently and challenge the status quo.

We are a warm, friendly team of professionals who work closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team to provide high quality, holistic driven, evidence-based care to all our patients. We are proud of our workforce and value the contribution that members of our staff make to our patients and the organisation. You will be required to demonstrate competence in assessing, planning, and evaluating the care needs of a group of patients with support from your ward manager, colleagues, and educator team.

We have an amazing opportunity for nurses new to Cardiology and that have a keen interest to learn and expand their knowledge or nurses who wish to expand their existing cardiology knowledge.
