Registered Nurse

What will the duties include?

• Assessing patients' health and wellbeing across a varied and changing surgical caseload, and planning care to meet each patient's needs.
• Delivering direct pre- and post-operative nursing care in line with patient care plans and clinical protocols.
• Monitoring vital signs, recognising deterioration, and escalating appropriately using clinical judgement.
• Administering medications safely and effectively in accordance with Clinic policies and the NMC Code.
• Communicating sensitive and complex information clearly and compassionately with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team.
• Maintaining accurate, legible and timely nursing documentation, including assessments, care plans and observations.
• Promoting best practice in health, safety, security and infection prevention and control.
• Developing your own knowledge and skills, and supporting the development of colleagues.
• Contributing to the development and continuous improvement of our ward service.
• Identifying and reporting incidents, safeguarding concerns and potential risks in line with Clinic procedures.

What we need from you?

• Registered Nurse (Adult) with valid NMC registration (required).
• Experience working in an acute care environment (required).
• Confident working within a team and with minimal supervision (required).
• Good understanding of clinical governance, patient safety and evidence-based practice (required).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (required).
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including long days, nights, earlies, lates and weekends (required).
• Proficient in IT systems used for patient records, documentation and care planning (required).
• Experience on a surgical ward (desirable).
