Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse at The Horder Centre
Are you a compassionate and proactive Registered Nurse looking for a role where you can make a real difference to patients before, during and after their procedure? Horder Healthcare is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Day Services Unit and Pre-Assessment team at The Horder Centre in Crowborough.

You will support patients through their care journey, helping them feel informed, reassured, and confident every step of the way.
What you'll be doing
- Deliver safe, effective, and personalised nursing care in line with national and organisational standards.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care within the Day Services Unit and Pre-Assessment setting.
- Carry out pre-admission screening, following Horder Healthcare policies and protocols.
- Support patients through pre-operative and post-operative care, providing clear advice and reassurance to patients and their relatives.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the multidisciplinary team to support positive patient outcomes and smooth patient flow.
- Maintain accurate documentation, escalate concerns appropriately, and uphold excellent infection prevention and control standards.
- Contribute to audits, service improvement, and the continued development of high-quality clinical practice.
- Support junior colleagues, new starters, and learners by sharing knowledge and promoting a positive learning environment.

About you
We’re looking for someone who brings warmth, clinical confidence, and a genuine commitment to patient-centred care. You will be a strong communicator, comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary team, and motivated to keep developing your professional practice.
Essential
- Registered Nurse with relevant professional registration.
- A nursing degree.
- Experience working as a Registered Nurse.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development throughout your career.
- A caring, proactive, and flexible approach to supporting patients and colleagues.
Desirable
- Clinical experience in orthopaedics, day surgery, or pre-assessment.
- A mentorship qualification or experience supporting learners and junior colleagues.
Job Details
Location: The Horder Centre, Crowborough
Contract: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Shift Pattern: Work over 4/5 days per week, Monday to Saturday, with department closure on Sundays. Flexibility in shift pattern is essential for this post with DSU shifts starting at 7:00am or 7:30am and with a variable end time (between 5pm and 9pm). Pre-Assessment shifts start at 08:30am and commonly end around 4pm, but can run later or earlier, depending on department activity.
Salary: up to £36,172.50 per annum

In accordance with Home Office guidance, successful candidates will be required to evidence their right to work in the UK before commencing employment. We have assessed this role and it does not meet the criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route. As such, we will not be accepting any visa sponsorships for this role, and candidates must be able to demonstrate their right to work in the UK independently, without sponsorship from Horder Healthcare.
