Role Overview

Due to the expansion of our Emergency Department and Urgent Treatment Centre, we are looking for Nurses who are searching for opportunities to further develop their career and who possess excellent communication skills, strong team working skills, and can evidence the delivery of good patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care needs of patients from admission (or before) to discharge, with the involvement of patients and their relatives/carers.
• Participate in the ongoing training, supervision, and support of registered and non-registered nursing staff, including Trainee Assistant Practitioners, Clinical Support Workers undertaking apprenticeships, and pre-registration Student Nurses.
• Evaluate own knowledge and practice and make effective use of appropriate learning opportunities, such as department training, Trust training, conference attendance, shadow staff, literature searching, and reading.
• Communicate effectively and work in partnership with patients, nursing colleagues, the Multidisciplinary Team, and all other relevant personnel.
• Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations, utilising escalation strategies, such as SBAR and pathways.
• Shortlisted candidates will be required to undertake the drug calculation assessment. Candidates who pass this assessment will then progress to the interview stage.
