About The Role

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Orthopaedic Wards nursing team. You will play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality, person-centred care to a defined group of patients from admission to discharge.

Working as part of a skilled multidisciplinary team, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate evidence-based care, ensuring patients and their families feel informed, supported, and involved throughout their journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-standard, evidence-based nursing care in line with NMC and NHS Scotland standards
  • Organise and prioritise your workload to meet the needs of patients effectively
  • Work within legal, ethical, and professional frameworks, promoting patient safety and wellbeing
  • Support junior staff and students, contributing to mentorship, preceptorship, and professional development programmes
  • Use sound clinical judgement in assessing patient conditions and responding appropriately
  • Participate in audit, research, clinical governance, and service improvement initiatives
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with confidentiality and data protection standards
  • Contribute to smooth departmental running, including taking charge in the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse
  • Use specialised and generic clinical equipment safely and competently (e.g., ECG, IV pumps, bladder scanners)
