Pre-Assessment Nurse

Spire Clare Park Hospital, Farnham

Full Time | 37.5 Hours | Band 5 Equivalent Salary (Dependent on Experience)

Are you an experienced Pre-Assessment Nurse looking to join a supportive team where you can make a real impact on patient care?

At Spire Clare Park Hospital, we're seeking a compassionate and proactive Registered Nurse to join our Pre-Operative Assessment team. You'll play a key role in preparing patients for surgery, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care and support before treatment.

The Role

As a Pre-Assessment Nurse, you'll help ensure patients are clinically prepared and fully informed ahead of their procedure.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive pre-operative assessments
  • Triaging and assessing patients to ensure suitability for surgery
  • Identifying and escalating potential clinical concerns
  • Supporting safe, personalised patient care throughout the surgical pathway
  • Providing clear information and reassurance to patients and families
  • Working collaboratively with consultants, anaesthetists and multidisciplinary teams
  • Contributing to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

About You

We're looking for a nurse who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and thrives in a collaborative environment.

You'll have:

  • Current NMC registration with no restrictions on practice
  • Previous experience within a Pre-Assessment setting
  • Acute healthcare experience
  • Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Confidence working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Good IT and electronic patient record skills

Desirable:

  • Phlebotomy, venepuncture and ECG competency
  • Pre-Operative Assessment Association qualification or training
