Job Description: Staff Nurse

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated, dynamic nurse who can demonstrate commitment to the provision of high-quality person-centred care.

Role Overview

You will work as a Band 5 staff nurse on Teign Ward, a medical/rehabilitation ward for predominantly older people. You will be a vital part of a multi-disciplinary team providing holistic care and discharge planning for your patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Many of your patients will have some degree of dementia, and you will strive to plan and provide person-centred care that enhances their stay on the ward.
  • Provide direct nursing care to a caseload of patients during your shift, ensuring that high standards of care are maintained and provide supervision to junior staff and students on the ward.
  • To work as a registered nurse within a team responsible to the team leader/shift coordinator caring for patients and their carers.
  • To fully utilise the learning opportunities available. You will gain an understanding of the physiological, psycho-social, spiritual, and cultural needs of the patients and their carers and develop a broad spectrum of clinical proficiency to deliver nursing care.
  • To promote a safe clinical environment for all patients, their carers, visitors, and staff.
  • To comply with the Trust’s values and expected behaviours.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
