Job Description: Band 5 Registered Nurse
About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate Band 5 Registered Nurse to join our friendly and supportive Diabetes and Endocrinology ward.
Responsibilities
The ward provides care for patients with a wide range of acute and complex medical conditions, alongside specialist care for people living with diabetes and endocrine disorders. This provides an excellent opportunity to develop broad acute medical nursing skills while gaining specialist knowledge and experience in diabetes care.
You will work within an experienced multidisciplinary team to provide safe, effective and individualised care throughout the patient journey, from admission and assessment through to treatment, recovery and discharge.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate safe, effective and individualised nursing care for patients with a range of acute medical, diabetes and endocrine conditions.
- Administer medications safely and develop competence in diabetes and insulin management.
- Support patients to understand and participate in the management of their condition.
- Contribute to treatment planning, complex discharge planning and safe and timely patient flow.
- Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and colleagues and maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical documentation.

Requirements
Previous diabetes experience is not essential. We welcome applications from both experienced and newly qualified nurses who are motivated to learn, develop their clinical skills and contribute positively to our team.
