Opportunity for a Wound Care Nurse to join our ever-expanding team of clinicians!
Contract – Permanent
Hours – Part-time
Location – Fleetwood Health & Wellbeing Centre, Dock Street, Fleetwood, Lancashire, FY7 6HP
Salary – £15.88 to £19.33 an hour Depending on experience
Main duties of the role
The post holder will be responsible for:
- Undertaking wound assessments and providing treatment for patients with simple wounds.
- Caring for patients with post-operative wounds, including suture and staple removal, post-trauma wounds such as skin tears and self-harm injuries, acute wounds requiring follow-up care, cavity wounds, and burns or scalds that need ongoing management.
- Educating patients on factors that support wound healing, including nutrition and scar management.

In addition, the post holder will be expected to:
- Refer patients to the wider community team where appropriate.
- Support senior clinicians and healthcare assistants.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Contribute to promoting the service and implementing changes directed by the Integrated Care Board (ICB).

Patients excluded from this service include those who are not registered with a GP within the Fylde and Wyre area, those who are housebound, and patients who are undergoing or require VAC therapy, larvae therapy, or Doppler assessments.
