Job Opportunity

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Manor Vets, Colebrook in Shirley on a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract.

About Manor Vets

Manor Vets is an established group of practices across the West Midlands, with this role based at our Colebrook practice in Shirley and supporting our other Manor branch practices when required. This is a varied role, offering the opportunity to work across a large and experienced team while delivering high standards of patient and client care.

You’ll be joining the wider Manor family, working alongside Veterinary Surgeons, Registered Veterinary Nurses, Student Veterinary Nurses, Veterinary Auxiliaries, reception colleagues, admin colleagues, and managers. We have certificate holders across our practices in a range of disciplines, allowing us to keep a large and varied caseload in-house.

Practice Highlights

  • Established practice group across the West Midlands
  • Large and experienced team including 24 Veterinary Surgeons, 25 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 7 Student Veterinary Nurses, 9 Veterinary Auxiliaries, 17 receptionists, 4 admin colleagues, and a management team
  • Certificate holders across a range of disciplines, supporting a varied in-house caseload
  • Digital x-ray, ultrasound, and in-house blood analysers across all sites
  • Additional equipment across the group including k-laser, dental x-ray, and CT scanner

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

Working Pattern

  • 40 hours per week
  • Shifts between 8:00am and 7:30pm, Monday to Friday
  • 1 in 3 Saturday mornings, 8:30am to 12:30pm
  • Bank holidays worked on a rota basis, with time off in lieu
  • 1 in 10 Saturday morning on-call rota

General Responsibilities

  • Deliver high standards of nursing care across a varied first opinion caseload
  • Support inpatient care, theatre practice, and anaesthesia monitoring
  • Run nurse consultations and support patient admissions and discharges
  • Carry out basic laboratory tasks and support diagnostic procedures
  • Triage patients and assist with incoming calls where required

  • Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
  • Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively
  • A proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
