We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Cogges Veterinary Surgery on a full time basis. Part-time applications will be considered.
About Cogges Veterinary Surgery
Cogges Veterinary Surgery is a small animal practice based in Witney, Oxfordshire. Witney is a lovely Market town with a wide range of shops, eateries, and weekly market all set in an idyllic location. Oxford is a short drive away and beautiful Cotswold villages are right on your doorstep, making Witney a perfect choice to live and work. We value a team approach and someone who will keep client and patient care at the forefront of everything they do.
Cogges Veterinary Surgery first opened in May 1993. We have been growing ever since and have built a reputation for being friendly and professional, whilst working hard to form an integral part of the community.
Practice Highlights
- Our RVNs are incredibly experienced and so you would be part of a knowledgeable and dynamic team.
- Our ops days are very nurse led and we offer a variety of nurse consultations so there is plenty of room and support for development.
- We work to a high standard with plenty of kit to help including a multi-parameter, capnography, BP monitoring, a high spec ultrasound machine, dental x-ray, digital radiography, and an in-house laboratory with plenty of cytology for ear and skin cases.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.
You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice. Your shifts are split between theatre, prep, kennels, float, and reception/dispensary.
Working Pattern
- 40 hours spread over 4 or 5 days
- 3 early shifts of 8am-4:30pm and 2 late shifts from 11:30am to 8pm
- Part-time applications will be considered
- Share of weekends and bank holidays
YOU MIGHT BE A GREAT FIT IF...
We’re looking for a confident and motivated Registered Veterinary Nurse who enjoys working as part of a team and delivering high standards of care. You’ll bring:
- Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
- Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively
- A proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
