We are seeking an experienced, team-oriented Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Wigmore Vets on a full-time basis.

Wigmore Vets is located in a lovely residential area in Wigmore, Rainham, Kent. We are well established in the area and have a large, loyal client base to prove it. The practice is very busy, with something to keep you on your toes every day.

Due to the practice's busy nature, we also offer excellent clinical exposure. The surgery is well-equipped, including an in-house blood machine and digital X-ray machines. Here at Wigmore, we truly value our staff. We are open to support and will always encourage further development of all our staff.

We pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service, 100% dedication and care for our clients. We value our staff and understand the importance of a good work/life balance, and we offer a warm and welcoming working environment for all. With close links to London and near the interesting coast of Kent, our location is diverse.

Our amazing team of 2 Vets, 11 RVNs, 1 Kennel Assistant and 5 Receptionists are the foundation of our practice. Some of our people have been here for 15-20 years, so this is an opportunity to embed in a close-knit, family-feel team. Our Nursing and support team are extremely knowledgeable and highly trained to assist the vets in many ways, which makes working at Wigmore a true pleasure.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

You will work 4 days across Monday-Friday, between 8:30 am and 6:30 pm. You will also be on the Saturday morning rota covering 2:4 between 8:30 am and 12 pm.

General responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with surgeries and anaesthesia
  • Ultrasounds, xray
  • Lab work
  • Dental care
  • Inpatient care
  • Client communication
  • Triage - working under the instruction of a vet, contacting clients, working on the emergency line, meds and follow-up consults, blood results and reporting

We’re looking for a confident and motivated Registered Veterinary Nurse who enjoys working as part of a team and delivering high standards of care. You’ll bring:

  • Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
  • Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively
  • A proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement

This role would be especially good for an experienced nurse who is interested in gaining more knowledge around consulting with the support of our fantastic team.
