Registered Veterinary Nurse

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join our growing team on an 18-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave.

The Small Animal Department at The Minster Veterinary Hospital is dedicated to providing exceptional care for pets across York and the surrounding areas. We understand that pets are treasured members of the family, and our passionate team is committed to delivering the highest standards of veterinary care.

As a busy and well-equipped hospital, we provide our own out-of-hours service as well as supporting other local veterinary practices. Our facilities include a CT scanner, advanced surgical capabilities, nurse clinics, and a wide range of diagnostic and treatment services.

The Role

  • Full-time position averaging 40 hours per week
  • Varied shift pattern, working Monday to Sunday
  • 1 in 4 weekends (Saturday and Sunday) with time off in lieu following weekend work
  • Bank holidays included within the rota
  • Full UK driving licence essential
  • CPD and certificate study actively encouraged
  • Opportunity to work alongside advanced surgical services and utilise modern diagnostic equipment, including CT

Salary: £26,500 – £31,000 per annum, depending on experience

About You

We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate RVN who:

  • Is registered with the RCVS
  • Has excellent nursing and communication skills
  • Enjoys working as part of a supportive team
  • Is committed to delivering outstanding patient and client care
  • Is keen to continue developing their professional knowledge and skills
