Registered Veterinary Nurse
Part-Time Registered Veterinary Nurse – Fixed-Term Contract (12 Months) at Dorset Coast Vets

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-oriented Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Dorset Coast Vets on a part-time basis.
About the Role
This is a fixed-term contract and a fantastic opportunity to be part of a well-established, modern small-animal primary care practice where nursing plays a central role in patient care. From day one, you will be trusted, supported, and encouraged to develop your skills in a team that values your contribution.

- 6 Veterinary Surgeons
- 10 Registered Veterinary Nurses
- 10 receptionists
- Strong learning and support culture

- 2 dental suites
- X-ray
- Ultrasound
- Separate dog and cat wards, reception, and ward
- Dedicated nurse consulting room
What You’ll Do
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will:
- Be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting an excellent client experience.
- Work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider team.
- Take responsibility for the nursing care of first opinion cases.
- Contribute to clinical standards and support ongoing patient care.

Key Responsibilities
- Anesthetic monitoring
- Inpatient care
- Surgical nursing
- Nurse-led triage
- Stage 1 dentals
Working Pattern
- 22.5 hours per week
- Core working sessions of 7.5 hours, ideally on a Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week
- Potential participation in 1-8 Saturdays (Saturday rota only)
- No out-of-hours work, Sundays, or bank holidays
Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a confident and motivated Registered Veterinary Nurse who enjoys:
- Working as part of a dedicated team
- Delivering high standards of care
Key Requirements
- Registered with the RCVS as a Veterinary Nurse
- Experience in clinical practice, with growing confidence in:
- Medical nursing
- Surgical nursing
- Strong communication skills and ability to build positive client and colleague relationships
- Excellent organisation and time management
- A proactive attitude to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
