I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Our lovely team really enjoys socialising together, including an annual garden party, access to a chalet in the French Alps and nurse-lead outings. We'll also provide cake on your birthday!
About the role:
We're looking for a passionate RVN who is keen to bring fresh ideas to the practice and become an integral part of our friendly, growing team. Whether you're newly qualified or experienced, you'll be supported to develop your skills and make the most of your nursing abilities in a practice that truly values its RVNs. We actively encourage our nurses to fully utilise their clinical skills, including Schedule 3 procedures, and we're proud to have nurses with certificates in anaesthesia, exotics, feline-friendly nursing, Emergency & Critical Care and nutrition.
We're looking for someone with excellent communication and customer care skills who enjoys working collaboratively, is organised, proactive and takes a thoughtful approach to decision-making. Most importantly, you'll be friendly, down-to-earth, passionate about animal welfare and enjoy building relationships with both clients and colleagues. Previous experience as a Clinical Coach, or a willingness to work towards becoming one, would be an advantage.
The role is full-time, working on a rota including 1 in 5 Saturdays alongside another nurse, with no out-of-hours or Sunday commitments. However, we understand that flexibility is important, so if you're looking for part-time hours, we'd still love to hear from you.
