Registered Veterinary Nurse Opportunity at Grantham Vets for Pets
An exciting opportunity has arisen at our small animal practice in Grantham Vets for Pets for an enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly and welcoming team.
We’re proud of our standalone practice which holds RCVS GP status as part of the Practice Standards Scheme, locally owned by Veterinary Surgeon, Lee Middleton. We have also been at the forefront of colleague wellness and previously received a ‘Highly Commended’ in the Veterinary Wellbeing awards. We were also shortlisted for the 2026 “Best UK Vets” award and our practice owner Lee won the “New Practice Owner of the Year” Award at the Vets for Pets annual conference.
As a practice we are nurse led as much as possible. This includes:
- Admitting & discharging patients
- Monitoring anaesthetics with access to multi-parameter monitoring.
- Performing radiography including dental radiography.
- Dental scaling.
- Performing local anaesthetic blocks.
- Inpatient care of hospitalised patients.
- Nurse clinics, currently 2nd vaccinations, monoclonal antibody injections, nail clips etc but we are looking to develop this area to include senior and adolescent clinics.
You will be joining a team of 3 RVN’s and a VCA and we are also a training practice and often have university nursing students on placement with us.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
