Islington, London
Are you a Registered Veterinary Nurse looking to join a friendly independent practice where you can genuinely develop your clinical skills, without sacrificing your work-life balance?
This growing independent practice in Islington is looking for an RVN to join its small and supportive clinical team.
You'll be joining a practice with a lovely client base and a varied caseload, including routine consultations and surgery alongside more advanced cases such as lump removals, ophthalmic procedures and medical work-ups — and importantly, you'll enjoy a role with no weekend or out-of-hours commitments.
The practice is also undergoing an exciting period of refurbishment and expansion, with a brand-new second site planned for next year. This will create additional consultation space, holding facilities and a dedicated hydrotherapy and rehabilitation area, giving the team even more scope to develop their services and nursing opportunities.
The Role
This is a varied nursing role combining clinical, client-facing and general practice responsibilities.
You'll be involved across the full patient journey, including:
- Anaesthesia and patient monitoring
- Surgical preparation and support
- Inpatient nursing and medical care
- Diagnostics and laboratory work
- Client communication and discharge
- Consulting and preventative healthcare
- Supporting the wider team with the day-to-day running of the practice
An interest in anaesthesia would be particularly welcomed, although the team is open to nurses with a range of clinical interests. Rehabilitation is another area that could develop as the practice expands, with a dedicated hydrotherapy and rehabilitation facility planned as part of the new site.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Practice
This is a small, independent veterinary practice based in Islington, with a friendly team and a strong focus on providing personalised care to its clients and patients.
The practice sees a mixture of routine and more advanced cases, with services including consultations, surgery, dentistry, diagnostic imaging, in-house laboratory work and day hospitalisation. There is also potential for the expansion to support further services such as chemotherapy, creating exciting opportunities for the team and individual nurses to develop their own clinical interests as the practice grows.
The Team & Culture
The team is small, friendly and supportive, with a genuine focus on providing high-quality care while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
