We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Cliffe Vets on a full-time basis. This position is based between our Woodingdean site where you will work as a sole charge nurse, and our Lewes site alongside the team.
Our team of 32 dedicated professionals includes veterinary surgeons, registered veterinary nurses, student veterinary nurses, and members of our client care team. We work closely together to provide high-quality, compassionate care to our patients and support to their owners, fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment across our branches.
Our practice comprises one main site and two branch surgeries. Each branch is fully equipped for routine operations and offers nurse-led consultations, ensuring consistent, high-quality care across all locations. Diagnostic imaging is available at Lewes, supporting a wide range of clinical services. Being split across two sites, this position will offer an experienced nurse a varied position allowing for both sole charge work as well as collaboration with our fantastic team.
How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.
You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

Working Pattern
You will work 37.5 hours per week, covering 2 days at our Woodingdean branch and 2 days at our Lewes surgery, between 8 am – 7 pm. You will be required to work 1:6 Saturday mornings 8:15 am – 12:45 pm with TOIL. We are happy to accept applications from PT applicants with Woodingdean being the primary site of work.
General Responsibilities
- Assist veterinary surgeons with operations, diagnostics, and clinical procedures
- Work collaboratively across clinical and front-of-house functions to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the practice
- Conduct nurse consultations, providing patient care, advice, and follow-up support to clients
- Manage and dispense medications in accordance with practice protocols

- Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
- Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
