We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Knockanboy Vets on a full-time basis.

Knockanboy Vet Group is a well-established mixed veterinary practice with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, compassionate care to both small animal and farm patients across the local community. Our experienced and dedicated team is passionate about excellent patient care and building strong, long-standing relationships with our clients.

This role will be based across our Dervock and Coleraine practices, offering a varied and rewarding caseload within a supportive and experienced team of 5 Veterinary Surgeons, 5 Veterinary Nurses and 1 Student Veterinary Nurse. We also have a strong relationship with the local university and regularly welcome student nurses on placement, providing opportunities to support and contribute to the development of the next generation of veterinary nurses.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

Working Pattern

  • 40 hours per week
  • Working on a rota basis Monday to Friday with a weekend and on-call rota
  • Call outs will be supplemented by additional call-out fees

General Responsibilities

  • Nurse consults
  • Theatre work including monitoring anaesthetics
  • Supporting our vets with consults including imaging and lab work
  • Inpatient care

  • Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
  • Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively
  • A proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
