Overview

The London Borough of Harrow is seeking a Registrar to join the Registration Services team within Legal & Governance. This public-facing role offers an opportunity to support residents during some of the most significant moments in their lives, including births, deaths, marriages, civil partnerships, and citizenship ceremonies. Based at Harrow Council offices, with ceremonies taking place at the Harrow Pavilion and external venues across the borough, the postholder will ensure services are delivered professionally, accurately, and in accordance with statutory requirements.

As a Registrar, you will be responsible for conducting ceremonies, taking notices of marriage and civil partnerships, registering life events, and providing advice and guidance to residents and stakeholders. You will maintain accurate records, process applications, issue certificates, and liaise with organizations including the General Register Office, Home Office, other registration districts, and coroners. The role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently, particularly when conducting ceremonies and registrations outside standard office hours.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
