Registration Officer

Sandwell's Registration Services are seeking to appoint a Registration Officer to be part of our Register Office team based at Highfields House in West Bromwich.

In this role, you will enjoy working with customers and delivering excellent customer service in a busy front-line environment. We are looking for someone who shares Sandwell Council’s values and behaviours, putting customers at the heart of everything they do, treating people with respect and empathy, and taking pride in delivering a positive experience for residents at important moments in their lives. The position offers a variety of interesting tasks and the service operates at a fast pace.

Key responsibilities:

  • Delivering birth, death and marriage registrations, taking notices of marriage and civil partnership
  • Facilitating marriage and civil partnership ceremonies, supporting Citizenship Ceremonies
  • Managing reception and customer enquiries, producing certificates and official documentation
  • Undertaking a range of administrative duties to support the smooth and efficient operation of the Register Office

Essential requirements:

  • GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths
  • Experience of working in an administration office
  • Experience of Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent telephony skills
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail

Additional Information:

  • This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week.
