Regulation Expert, Packaging

Department: Circ. & Value Chain Trans. : Advisory
Employment Type: Fixed Term - Full Time
Location: United Kingdom

Description

Anthesis is looking for a Regulatory Expert in Packaging to join our Circularity and Value Chain Transformation team. (Note: We are welcoming applicants based in the UK and EMEA for this role.)

You will be a key player in our Products & Packaging portfolio, where we design data-driven, future-proof strategies that minimize environmental impact.

In this role, you’ll bridge the gap between complex legislation—like the PPWR—and actionable business requirements. We are looking for a technical expert who can ensure accuracy and mitigate risk while driving excellence across our global projects.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Technical Leadership

  • Manage multiple concurrent projects, delivering high-quality, high-impact work that drives results for Anthesis clients.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to both clients and colleagues on leading standards and trends, integrating this expertise into projects, proposals, and service evolution.
  • Draft comprehensive reports and presentations that distill complex information into key messages to inform strategic decision-making.

Regulatory Expertise & Analysis

  • Execute detailed regulatory deep-dives to help clients interpret and action critical requirements, future-proof their operations, and plan for new legislative initiatives.
  • Conduct regulatory readiness assessments focusing on existing and upcoming packaging frameworks.
  • Perform landscape reviews, including sustainable packaging regulations and competitor commitments.
  • Utilize data analysis to identify gaps or inaccuracies, developing well-reasoned approaches and assumptions to bridge them.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
