Ebury (Location) Office - Hybrid: 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home per week
Role Purpose
The Regulatory Compliance Analyst plays a critical role in driving and executing the firm’s compliance framework, with a specialized focus on Foreign Exchange (FX) products and services. Reporting to the Head of Compliance, you will lead complex monitoring activities, provide expert advisory on safeguarding regulations, and champion the delivery of good outcomes in line with Consumer Duty. You will act as a key compliance partner to the business, utilizing data-driven insights to ensure the firm operates safely within regulatory boundaries while supporting commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Monitoring & Testing Execution
- Plan Execution: Lead and conduct risk-based testing as defined in the Compliance Monitoring Plan (CMP) to assess adherence to internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Transaction & Client Surveillance: Perform deep-dive testing of client files and FX trade data to ensure compliance with market conduct rules, best execution, and safeguarding standards.
- Consumer Duty Outcomes: Evaluate end-to-end customer journeys and product governance frameworks to ensure the business continuously delivers and evidences good customer outcomes under the Consumer Duty rules.
- Findings & Remediation: Clearly document complex issues or anomalies, draft comprehensive reports for senior management, and drive the resolution of remediation actions within agreed timelines.
Regulatory Advisory & Support
- Safeguarding & FX Advisory: Providing proactive advisory to the business on safeguarding obligations, client money rules, and the compliance nuances of FX products and services.
- Query Resolution: Serve as the first point of contact for complex business queries, guiding stakeholders on regulatory expectations and escalating critical matters to the Head of Compliance when necessary.
- Horizon Scanning & Gap Analysis: Support the Head of Compliance in performing regulatory research, horizon scanning, and gap analyses regarding upcoming changes in payments, FX, and Consumer Duty regulations.
- Recordkeeping & Audits: Oversee high standards of recordkeeping for compliance logs (breaches, conflicts of interest, PAD) and manage the collection of evidence for internal and external regulatory audits.

Reporting & Training Support
- Data & MI Reporting: Gather, analyze, and organize complex data sets to produce robust Management Information (MI) and regulatory reports, particularly regarding Consumer Duty metrics and safeguarding health checks.
- Training Coordination: Develop and deliver targeted compliance training materials to the wider business, raising awareness of FX market conduct, Consumer Duty obligations, and safeguarding protocols.
Key Requirements
Technical Expertise
- Experience: Proven experience in a compliance, risk, or audit-related role within financial services. Substantial experience in FinTech, Payments, or an FX brokerage is highly desirable.
- Product Knowledge: A strong technical understanding of Foreign Exchange (FX) products, services, and associated market risks.
- Regulatory Awareness: Deep working knowledge of regulations affecting Electronic Money and Payment Services, with demonstrable expertise in Consumer Duty.
- Analytical Skills: Advanced ability to work with complex datasets, identify trends or compliance inconsistencies, and translate data into actionable regulatory insights.

- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to distill complex regulatory jargon into clear, actionable business advice. Fluency in English is essential.
- Agility & Autonomy: Highly comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities and tight deadlines effectively.
- Stakeholder Management: Strong interpersonal skills with the confidence to challenge the business where necessary, while collaborating effectively with local and group compliance colleagues.
- Problem-Solving: A proactive, solutions-oriented approach to task management and a continuous desire to stay ahead of complex, evolving regulatory frameworks.
