Regulatory Compliance Officer
Location: Hybrid remote in Milton Keynes
Pay: From £13.00 per hour
Working Pattern: Flexible hybrid working with monthly head office attendance where required
About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Regulatory Compliance Officer to help strengthen quality, governance and regulatory compliance across our services. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in health and social care, compliance, quality assurance or risk management who wants to make a meaningful contribution to safe, effective and person-centred support.
What You’ll Do
- Support the organisation to meet CQC requirements, statutory regulations, internal policies and recognised best practice.
- Coordinate audits, compliance checks, evidence reviews and inspection preparation.
- Maintain compliance registers, evidence folders, action plans and regulatory documentation.
- Monitor risks, improvement actions, complaints, incidents and safeguarding themes to identify learning and drive improvement.
- Support governance, quality assurance, policy implementation and risk management systems.
- Assist with client risk assessments following appropriate training, ensuring risks, controls and review dates are recorded.
- Prepare clear compliance reports for managers and governance meetings.
- Coordinate policy reviews, document control and version management.
- Maintain accurate compliance records in line with GDPR and organisational policy.
- Record franchise information and care entries accurately on the organisation’s system.
- Submit regulatory notifications and statutory reports within required timescales.
- Support the team with LMS services, including training records, course enrolment, completion tracking and compliance reporting.
- Help onboard and support new subscribers using the healthcare compliance monitoring platform, including account setup guidance, compliance tracking and user support.
- Provide practical compliance guidance to managers and staff.
- Identify training needs arising from audits, incidents, complaints or regulatory changes.
- Promote staff awareness of safeguarding, infection control, medicines, health and safety, confidentiality and duty of candour.
- Encourage accurate use of care, governance, compliance and learning management systems.

What We’re Looking For
- Relevant experience or qualification in health and social care, compliance, governance, quality assurance or risk management.
- Understanding of CQC expectations, safeguarding, risk management, confidentiality, incidents, complaints and quality improvement.
- Strong organisational, communication, report-writing and IT skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and manage competing priorities.
- A proactive, professional and values-led approach to compliance and continuous improvement.
Desirable Experience

- Experience in a CQC-regulated care or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of the CQC Single Assessment Framework and Health and Social Care Act regulations.
- Experience using electronic care planning, audit, compliance, LMS or healthcare compliance monitoring platforms.
Key Working Relationships
- Registered Manager, Business lead, and senior leadership team.
- Care coordinators, supervisors, clinical leads and frontline staff.
- External regulators, commissioners, local authorities and safeguarding teams.
Performance Measures
- Audits, evidence folders, records and action plans are maintained accurately and on time.
- Compliance risks, improvement actions and policy reviews are monitored effectively.
- Client risk assessments are completed accurately following training.
- LMS and healthcare compliance monitoring platform support is delivered accurately and in a timely manner.
- Compliance reports are shared with relevant stakeholders as required.
Additional Requirements
- Enhanced DBS check may be required, depending on the role and service setting.
- Ability to travel to head office once a month, where required.
