Role Overview
The Regulatory Compliance Officer supports the clinical governance, quality and safety agenda across the Trust, working under the direction of the Risk and Assurance Manager. The post provides dedicated capacity to coordinate the systems that evidence compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, principally CQC registration and inspection frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintains central evidence processes, coordinates self-assessment, gap analysis, and action plan monitoring, and produces performance reports for committees and senior leaders.
- Acts as the main point of contact for compliance queries, delivers training on assurance systems, and supports the Clinical Accreditation Programme through scheduling, assessment, and reporting.
- Manages the Trust's patient information leaflets, maintaining a controlled central register, tracking review dates, confirming clinical sign-off, and ensuring content meets the Accessible Information Standard.
- Coordinates the internal and external arrangements that support the Trust in meeting statutory and regulatory requirements, including CQC registration and inspection frameworks.
- Supports the Assurance Manager in preparing for and responding to external inspections, peer reviews, and evidence requests, and maintains a central log of reviews, reports, and action plans.
- Develops and maintains central evidence processes so that requests can be answered accurately and on time.
- Coordinates self-assessment, gap analysis, and action plan monitoring, and produces reports identifying gaps in compliance and the actions needed to close them.
- Manages the Trust's patient information leaflets, maintaining a controlled central register, tracking review dates, chasing clinical sign-off, and ensuring content is current, accurate, and meets the Accessible Information Standard.
- Escalates leaflets that fall past review.
- Interrogates assurance systems such as Datix to provide data and reports for committees, managers, and clinicians.
- Analyses complex and sometimes sensitive information and presents it clearly to a range of audiences.
- Acts as the main point of contact for compliance and assurance queries, and delivers training on assurance systems to staff at all levels.
- Supports the CAP, including scheduling, assessor allocation, database management, report production, and carrying out assessments where required.
- Manages competing priorities across these areas so that internal and external deadlines are met.
