Job Description

About the role:

The Regulatory Compliance Specialist supports Kraft Heinz Europe by ensuring that products, labels, and related communications comply with applicable food legislation, government guidance, and company policies. The role provides regulatory expertise across product launches, formulation, labelling, and claims, working with cross-functional teams to enable compliant business decisions and support products being placed on the market across Europe.

Key accountabilities:

  • Work across different product categories and systems, ensuring regulatory information is maintained accurately and applied consistently to support compliant product delivery.
  • Review ingredient specifications, recipes, label artwork, and related product information to ensure compliance with EU and UK legislation, relevant codes of practice, company policies, and internal standards relating to food composition and labelling.
  • Support the business by providing accurate product and labelling information for products sold across Europe.
  • Provide regulatory guidance to cross-functional teams including R&D, Artwork, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Legal.
  • Support product launch, renovation, and change projects by providing regulatory input from project kick-off through to launch.
  • Review and advise on claims, advertising, promotional materials, and other product communications, providing clear regulatory guidance and highlighting risks and implications to support compliant business decisions.
  • Support responses to internal, consumer, and customer queries relating to product information, formulation, and labelling where needed.
  • Maintain working knowledge of relevant EU and UK food legislation and government guidance, sharing relevant updates with stakeholders as needed.
  • Build strong knowledge of Kraft Heinz products, business processes, and regulatory requirements to support practical, business-relevant recommendations.

What it takes to succeed in this role:

  • Degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent relevant experience;
  • Regulatory experience within food, FMCG, or a related sector;
  • Good understanding of EU and UK food law, including but not limited to labelling, nutrition and health claims, and regulatory compliance of ingredients and additives, with the ability to apply this in a practical business context;
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex environment;
  • Clear communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence working across functions and levels;
  • Ability to assess issues, identify risk, and provide balanced, pragmatic recommendations;
  • Proactive, curious, and solutions-oriented mindset;
  • Ownership mentality, with the confidence to manage defined areas independently while knowing when to escalate.
