MERJE is partnering with a fast-growing specialist consultancy to recruit a Consultant or Senior Consultant into its expanding Regulatory & Conduct Risk practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced regulatory, risk, or compliance professional who wants to move beyond a traditional in-house role and gain exposure to a broad range of clients, regulatory challenges, and transformation programmes across the UK financial services market.
Working with organisations spanning banking, consumer finance, wealth and asset management, and other regulated sectors, you will take a leading role in delivering high-quality advisory engagements, helping clients navigate an increasingly complex FCA and regulatory landscape.
The role
You will work directly with senior client stakeholders to understand regulatory and operational challenges, develop practical solutions, and lead the delivery of a variety of advisory assignments.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
