Our regulatory work plays an important role in maintaining public confidence and ensuring RICS professionals meet the standards expected of them. We are looking for a Regulatory CPD Auditor to help monitor compliance with our Continuing Professional Development Requirements and provide a professional, consistent experience for members and stakeholders.
This is a Hybrid role based in Birmingham, with 60% of your time spent in the office and 40% remote.
Role Purpose and Key Responsibilities
As a Regulatory CPD Auditor, you will conduct structured audits of CPD records submitted by regulated professionals, assessing evidence for completeness, relevance and alignment with RICS’ CPD policy.
You will identify areas of non-compliance, clearly record your findings and provide tailored guidance to help members address any gaps. You will also manage CPD enquiries and cases, coordinating and preparing disciplinary case bundles, including audit findings, correspondence history and regulatory breach summaries, ensuring documentation is accurate, complete and meets evidentiary standards for review and decision-making.
You will:
- Conduct audits of CPD records, assessing compliance against RICS standards.
- Identify, record and report areas of non-compliance, providing clear recommendations for improvement.
- Manage CPD enquiries, cases and inboxes, ensuring timely and professional resolution.
- Review incoming communications, exercising sound judgement to determine appropriate actions and escalations.
- Provide disciplinary evidence bundles, ensuring documentation is accurate, complete and panel-ready.
- Coordinate and compile comprehensive disciplinary case bundles, including audit findings, correspondence history and regulatory breach summaries, ensuring documentation is accurate, complete and panel-ready for review and decision-making.
- Complete regulatory conduct checks and process resignations and readmissions within agreed service levels.
- Build positive relationships with members and stakeholders, delivering excellent customer service across multiple channels.
- Maintain accurate records, audit trails and case documentation in line with regulatory and quality standards.
- Analyse CPD compliance trends and contribute to continuous improvement of regulatory processes, member guidance and education.

About You
You bring experience gained in a fast-paced casework, auditing, compliance or regulatory environment. Confident reviewing information against defined standards, you can identify risks and areas of non-compliance, make balanced evidence-based decisions and manage multiple cases and priorities effectively. Highly organised and detail-oriented, you are comfortable working to deadlines while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
You are an effective communicator who can explain complex or sensitive issues clearly and adapt your approach to different audiences. Demonstrating integrity, discretion and sound judgement, you are motivated by upholding professional standards and delivering a fair, consistent and high-quality service to members and stakeholders.
You will bring:
- Experience working in a compliance, regulatory, audit or casework environment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively, meeting targets, service levels and deadlines.
- Confident in analysing information, assessing risk and making balanced, evidence-based decisions.
- The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
- Resilience and adaptability when managing changing priorities and workloads.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality, professionalism and high standards of quality.

- Experience preparing regulatory reports, case documentation or disciplinary evidence bundles.
- Knowledge of CPD frameworks, regulatory processes or disciplinary procedures.
- Experience working within a membership organisation, professional body or regulated environment.
