Regulatory Lawyer – Section 75 Consumer Credit Act
Six-Month Remote Contract
We are seeking an experienced Regulatory Lawyer for a six-month remote contract assignment, supporting a project with a specific focus on Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974.
The successful candidate will have strong practical experience advising on Section 75 obligations, claims, disputes, and related consumer credit matters. Experience gained within a bank, credit card provider, lender, financial services business, or regulatory consultancy would be highly relevant.

- Provide legal and regulatory advice relating to Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974.
- Review and assess Section 75 claims, liabilities, and associated legal issues.
- Advise on consumer credit legislation, regulatory expectations, and customer outcomes.
- Support the development or review of policies, procedures, and customer communications.
- Work closely with compliance, risk, complaints, and operational teams.
- Identify regulatory risks and recommend practical, commercially appropriate solutions.
- Produce clear written advice and documentation for internal stakeholders.

Requirements
- Qualified Regulatory, Financial Services, or Consumer Credit Lawyer.
- Specific and demonstrable experience of Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974.
- Strong understanding of UK consumer credit regulation and FCA expectations.
- Experience advising financial services or consumer credit organisations.
- Able to interpret legislation and translate it into clear, practical advice.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment.
- Available to start at short notice.
