Job Description
I am recruiting for a Regulatory Outcomes Lead for a utilities business in Cambridge. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the development of regulatory incentives strategy and influencing policy discussions with the regulator and other key stakeholders.
- Assessing emerging regulatory proposals and translating complex policy developments into clear business insights and recommendations.
- Maintaining oversight of performance outcomes and financial incentive forecasts, helping the business understand where to focus effort and investment.
- Supporting the production of the Annual Performance Report and ensuring robust, accurate external performance reporting.
- Building strong relationships with regulators, government departments, industry bodies, and other external stakeholders.
- Representing the business in consultations, industry forums, and regulatory discussions, helping to shape the future of economic regulation in the sector.

The Successful Applicant
You will likely bring:
- Significant experience in regulatory policy, economic regulation, or public policy, ideally within a regulated or infrastructure sector.
- A proven track record of engaging with regulators, government bodies, and senior external stakeholders.
- Strong strategic thinking and the ability to translate complex regulatory issues into practical business actions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience developing policy positions, consultation responses, and persuasive narratives.
- Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities, with confidence interpreting performance data and economic analysis.
- The ability to build credibility and influence at senior levels both internally and externally.
- A degree, or equivalent experience, in economics, public policy, engineering, or a related discipline.
