About us
Future Energy Networks (FEN) represents those in the energy industry seeking to understand and enact the changes needed to deliver the energy networks of the future.
FEN’s current members include the owner and operator of the GB gas transmission network, National Gas, and the four Gas Distribution Networks (GDNs) – Cadent Gas, Northern Gas Networks, SGN and Wales & West Utilities. Five networks with operations in Northern Ireland – Evolve, Gas Networks Ireland, Kinecx Energy, Mutual Energy and Phoenix Energy – became associate members of FEN in summer 2025.
We believe in an equitable and affordable energy transition, with the energy networks playing a fundamental role in enabling this to happen. FEN is leading this change through bringing together industry expertise to build the evidence base in support of decision-making, while our member companies invest in the infrastructure required to transport low carbon energy from producers to consumers.

Do you want to deliver outcomes which tangibly impact the lives of hundreds of thousands of people across the country? Then come and join us as our new Regulatory Programmes Support Officer.
The British gas networks are working together, in partnership with regulator Ofgem and a number of other key industry stakeholders, to support vulnerable consumers and improve carbon monoxide safety across Great Britain through a programme of work called the Gas Network Vulnerability and Carbon Monoxide Initiatives (VCMI). The primary focus for the role will be to provide secretariat support for the National Steering Panel (NSP) and Delivery Group (DG) established under the VCMI governance framework of the current price control, RIIO-GD3.
At the heart of this work is a collaborative governance framework that brings together industry leaders, regulators, charities and delivery partners to ensure millions of pounds of investment achieves real, measurable outcomes. This is a programme of significant strategic importance to our members, to Ofgem, and to other stakeholders for the RIIO-3 regulatory period, with £33million per year of dedicated Vulnerability and Carbon Monoxide Allowance (VCMA) funding to facilitate the work plus additional baseline funding for business-as-usual vulnerability work.

This is far more than a traditional administrative role – you'll be at the centre of high-profile discussions, coordinating senior stakeholders from across the energy sector, shaping governance processes and helping ensure important decisions are translated into action.
Alongside the VCMI work, you will also provide administrative and coordination support across a number of our members’ regulatory initiatives, playing a central role in facilitating critical industry working groups, ensuring effective business support is provided to our members to help them meet the requirements of the RIIO-GD3 regulatory framework.

Job responsibilities
As a Regulatory Programmes Support Officer at FEN, you will:
- Coordinate National Steering Panel and Delivery Group meetings, including scheduling, logistics and stakeholder communications.
- Prepare and distribute agendas, papers and supporting documentation.
- Attend meetings and produce minutes, action logs and meeting records.
- Track actions and follow up with stakeholders to ensure timely completion.
- Maintain governance documentation, registers, contact lists and document repositories.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders linked to VCMI such as Citizen’s Advice and the National Energy Action to strengthen collaboration and information exchange.
- Support preparation of annual reports, governance reviews and stakeholder communications.
- Assist with organisation of annual showcase events and governance workshops.
- Provide the same types of support to other FEN workstreams, working groups and programme activities where capacity is required.

What you bring
- Consistent evidence of providing exceptional secretariat support in environments with complex governance and a wide set of stakeholders.
- Excellent meeting administration and minute taking.
- Stakeholder coordination across multiple organisations.
- Strong document management and organisational skills.
- Excellent written communication and attention to detail.
- Knowledge and experience of regulatory frameworks for regulated industries (desirable)

- Full-time, permanent contract in London with hybrid working (minimum 2 days per week in the office)
- Salary £30,000-£50,000, depending on experience
