The opportunity

We are working with a law firm who are looking to recruit a Regulatory Solicitor to join its busy and growing team. The team's practice area is broad covering general Regulatory work (such as Health & Safety, Corporate Manslaughter) through to specific Healthcare Regulatory work including Inquests.

Members of the team regularly conduct their own advocacy so this is an opportunity for you to continue with this skillset.

About you

The team is looking to recruit Solicitors with a strong grounding in Regulatory work and they are open-minded to background. So you could be working in the public sector or in an in-house role but looking to move into private practice. There are some great examples in the team of Solicitors with strong advocacy or Regulatory backgrounds who have successfully made the switch from the public sector.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The team would particularly be interested in candidates who have experience in Inquests work.

The ideal candidate would be a qualified UK Solicitor with at least 2-3 years' experience in Regulatory work but they will consider candidates at all levels of PQE. It could suit a trainee solicitor approaching qualification whose training has been heavily weighted to advocacy and/or Regulatory/Inquests work who is looking for a fresh challenge on qualification.
