Overview of the position

The Training Manager is responsible for shaping, maintaining and continuously improving Chemical Watch Events & Training's portfolio of training and eLearning products for external customers, helping companies understand and meet their regulatory obligations across chemicals management, product compliance and sustainability. The portfolio includes Enhesa's Professional Development membership offering and standalone training courses. The role leads the development and delivery of course content, overseeing learning objectives, course structure, trainer input and content quality to ensure the programme remains relevant, accurate and aligned with customer needs. The role also works closely with Sales and Marketing teams to support the positioning, promotion and commercial success of the training portfolio.

This is a hands-on role requiring a blend of content leadership, programme management and practical delivery. The Training Manager should be confident using tools and processes to create, maintain and enhance training materials and learning experiences, including eLearning authoring tools such as Rise, Cvent and other online learning platforms. The role will make effective and responsible use of AI tools to support content development, quality improvement, operational efficiency and learner engagement.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Training Programme Management & Content Oversight

  • Work with the Head of Content (Events), subject matter experts and external stakeholders to identify new topics, emerging regulatory needs, content gaps and course updates.
  • Own and maintain the training content plan, ensuring courses align with customer needs, regulatory priorities and Enhesa expertise.
  • Develop and maintain course outlines, learning objectives and supporting materials, ensuring content is accurate, current and appropriate for the target audience.
  • Maintain and develop content within the Professional Development membership programme, ensuring it remains current and aligned with customer needs.
  • Review course performance, customer feedback and market developments to identify opportunities for new courses and programme growth.
  • Coordinate training schedules, resources and delivery workflows, working closely with production and operations colleagues, and support Sales and Marketing with the positioning and promotion of the training portfolio.
  • Monitor participation, feedback and performance indicators to drive continuous improvement and maintain quality standards.
  • Support live conferences and related event activities as required.

Training/Provider Management

  • Manage trainer and provider relationships, coordinating content requirements, timelines and deliverables to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Support the preparation and management of contracts, statements of work and agreed deliverables.
  • Gather feedback on trainers and training content to inform future improvements.

Training Materials Development, Production and Delivery

  • Translate expert input into practical, learner-focused materials, including slides, digital resources, recordings and supporting documentation.
  • Use departmental tools and processes, including Rise, Cvent and other online learning platforms, to create and update training materials and eLearning courses.
  • Host online training courses and support platform set-up, content upload and basic troubleshooting where required, working closely with the Events Technical Team to ensure high-quality delivery and learner experience.
  • Maintain high standards of accessibility, branding, quality and usability, using AI tools appropriately to support content development and continuous improvement.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in training programme management, content production, eLearning, professional learning or B2B events/training.
  • Strong content judgement, with experience turning technical or expert subject matter into clear, structured training material.
  • Working knowledge of online training platforms, LMS systems and eLearning authoring tools, ideally including Articulate Rise and Cvent.
  • Confident using technical tools and processes to create, update and maintain training materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI tools effectively and responsibly to enhance the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of training content and learner experiences.
  • Experience working with trainers, subject matter experts or external providers to develop and improve course content.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills; able to manage multiple courses and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative team player, able to work independently with strong attention to detail.
