Salary
The salary scale for a Band 3 has been adjusted as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2026/2027 and will be implemented in August 2026 backdated to 01 April 2026 where applicable.

Job Overview
This post is fixed term/secondment for 24 months from start date to meet the needs of the service.

The post holder will support the work of the MSK pathway in the development of supported self-management approaches such as ESCAPE Pain and Good Boost across the Health Board.
The post holder will take responsibility for collaborating with Health Board clinical teams, Local Authority leisure and National Exercise on Referral Teams (NERS) to support the rollout of Good Boost as a self-management approach to people with MSK conditions.
Will be responsible for supporting people to access supported self-management options in the community.
The post holder will plan their own workload and work independently to defined policies and procedures and be responsible for managing own workload.
Main Duties
The successful candidate will support the roll out of supported self-management for MSK conditions across Local Authority and Health Board teams, reviewing activity and utilisation data and providing updates to MSK Service Lead.
Working with the MSK Therapy teams, local authority leisure and National Exercise on Referral (NERS) teams, the post holder will be initiating and establishing new systems of work to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Therefore they will need to develop clear, organised systems to report and respond to utilisation and outcome data.
The post holder will be supported as part of a close knit MSK Therapy team and utilise their communication skills to develop relationships between health and leisure services and support citizens to access this self management option in their local leisure facility.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Experience
Essential Criteria
- Previous experience of working directly with the public on health related behaviour change
- Previous experience of supporting people to utilise electronic devices virtually or over the telephone
- Previous office management experience
- Previous experience in a health and/or social care environment
- Experience of leisure services risk management processes
Desirable Criteria
- Knowledge of NHS clinical information systems in use across the Health Board (CWS, WPAS, Adastra etc)
- Previous experience of supervising staff
- Knowledge and understanding of Putting Things Right process
- The ability to demonstrate an understanding of the NHS
Qualifications And/or Knowledge
Essential Criteria
- Vocational Level 3 health and fitness qualification
- Knowledge of health or fitness services and ideas
- Diploma level knowledge and experience
- Evidence of managing and updating patient information and content
- RSA stage III word processing/typing or equivalent
- The ability to design databases and spreadsheets
Desirable Criteria
- Experience of Myrddin/CWS
- Utilisation of Electronic Staff Record
- Health or fitness qualification or experience
- Understanding of shared decision making
- Understanding of Brief Intervention and motivational interviewing approach
