Lead the development of analytics that shape reinsurance and exposure management decisions

Build specialist expertise through technical training and career opportunities within the team and across NFU Mutual

Hybrid 80% homeworking and 20% from Stratford Upon Avon

About the role

At NFU Mutual, you’ll lead the development of reinsurance analytics that support the effective placement of our external reinsurance programmes and exposure management activities. You’ll define, build and deliver clear analytical outputs that inform business decisions, committee reporting and strategic risk insight.

This is a newly created role in a growing team of five. The team works with brokers and reinsurers to place external reinsurance programmes and brings together portfolio, market and exposure data to build a view of risk across the business. You’ll support this work through accurate data, reporting and analytical tools, while helping to strengthen the team’s data capability.

Your work will include managing data inputs for accumulation exercises, risk appetite measures, early warning indicators and reporting. You’ll analyse portfolio, exposure, claims and market data, advise underwriting and claims colleagues on reinsurance implications, and monitor the value delivered by reinsurance programmes. You’ll also build effective relationships with internal teams, brokers, reinsurers, data providers and technology partners, and develop technical guidance and training.

You’ll receive specialist reinsurance training, with opportunities to progress within the team and explore wider career options across NFU Mutual.

This role is based in our Tiddington Head Office, just outside Stratford Upon Avon. However, we understand how important a positive work life balance is, so to help you give your best, we offer great facilities when you want to be in an office environment and support to work up to 80% of your hours from home.

About you

You’re an analytical and strategically minded professional who takes accountability for high quality outcomes. You communicate complex information clearly, present with confidence and use sound judgement to solve problems. You build trusted relationships, work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and can influence and advise others where needed.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
