Job: Outwards Reinsurance Team Leader
Salary: Up to £100,000
Location: London Hybrid
A growing Lloyd’s Managing Agent is looking to appoint an experienced Outwards Reinsurance Team Leader to join their expanding and dynamic reinsurance function.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced reinsurance professional to take a hands-on leadership role, combining technical expertise with team leadership and a strong focus on developing a best-in-class outwards reinsurance function.
The Role
Working closely with the Head of Ceded Reinsurance, you will take responsibility for leading and developing the team whilst remaining hands-on with the technical and operational aspects of the function.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading, motivating and developing the team, taking a hands-on "leading from the front" approach.
- Supporting the Head of Ceded Reinsurance across the outwards reinsurance function.
- Taking responsibility for the outwards reinsurance month-end close from start to finish.
- Acting as a subject matter expert for technical, process and XL Pro queries.
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- Developing a best-in-class outwards reinsurance function, including systems, procedures and process improvements.
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, controls and the overall operating model.

Requirements
We are looking for an experienced reinsurance professional with a strong technical understanding of Facultative, Treaty and XOL reinsurance processes. You will ideally have:
- Strong experience within an outwards/ ceded reinsurance environment.
- Excellent understanding of Facultative, Treaty and XOL processes.
- Experience with XL Pro would be a distinct advantage.
- Previous experience leading or managing staff is beneficial.
- Strong technical and analytical skills, with the ability to act as a subject matter expert.
- A proactive approach to process improvement and developing systems and procedures.
- The confidence and ability to work collaboratively with senior stakeholders and lead from the front.
