Function / Area: Reinsurance Reports To: Reinsurance Operations Manager
Position Summary
We are looking for a reinsurance professional to provide operational support to the CNA / Hardy Ceded Reinsurance function in ensuring post-placement activities are conducted promptly and accurately.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing proportional quota share reinsurance contract processes including policy rules and entries (Subscribe and Senator), calculation and rendering of statements, managing reinsurer queries, and other processes
- Responsible for managing excess of loss reinsurance contract processes including policy entry (Subscribe and Senator), claims close and recoveries, dealing with underwriters queries, premium allocations and payments, Premium Adjustment calculations, and other processes
- Responsible for ensuring premium payments are paid effectively and on time in area of responsibility, including adhering to LORS and USM settlement procedures and also internal finance payment processes
- Comply with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements and adhere to agreed procedures and controls to ensure this compliance. Involvement in regulatory returns (including Lloyd’s SRS) and those required for reinsurance Pools schemes
- Assisting with the processing and handling of Facultative reinsurance processes including policy entry, premium payment, and claims recoveries
- Identifying and servicing run-off and legacy accounts
- Issuing large special settlement requests as required
- Provide sign-off within agreed framework as a second pair of eyes
- Supporting and collaborating with Underwriting, Reserving, Finance, Claims teams
- External communication with Brokers and Reinsurers to advise and secure settlement of premiums and recoveries
- Monitoring and managing credit control and aged debt in area of responsibility
- Calculation and reconciliation of broker relationship dividends
- Assist with projects as requested by the Reinsurance Operations Manager including involvement in new system implementation as appropriate
- Represent department in internal and external meetings
- Nurturing the less experienced members of the Operations Team

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Understanding of Lloyd’s and London market
- 5 to 10 years’ experience of working for a Lloyd’s Syndicate and/or Company market in a ceded reinsurance role
- Experience and thorough understanding of ceded Reinsurance
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability and confidence to build internal/external relationships
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software with advanced Excel skills
- Attention to detail, willingness to understand and enhance processes
- Good working knowledge of Market Outwards Reinsurance Systems, with knowledge of policy administration systems Subscribe, Senator and/or XLRAS would be advantageous
