The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Reinsurance Technician to join our Reinsurance Operations team on a full-time permanent basis. With global exposure across complex reinsurance programs, broad risks and multi-line products this role will partner across the business gaining a variety of exposure.

Your Role
Reporting to a Reinsurance team leader, you will be responsible for the recording of balances relating to Facultative proportional and non-proportional reinsurances in the European Operations division, building and developing relationships with brokers and reinsurers and ensuring that QBE meets its obligations in respect of this important area. You will be part of a team in the UK with an offshore function based in the Philippines.
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, specifically Reinsurers, Brokers, Underwriters and Claims Teams, ensuring that high standards of service are maintained and improved upon.
- Respond to Broker and Reinsurer queries relating to premium settlements and claims recoveries.
- Liaising with Claims team to obtain loss reports for reinsurance recoveries and raising queries to assist with the accurate processing of Reinsurance recoveries.
- Support the work of the Outwards Credit Control team to ensure timely receipt of recoveries (LORs experience beneficial).
- Perform peer review for tasks completed by the Offshore and Onshore reinsurance team.
- Assist with keeping process documentation up to date.
- Determines own work priorities and activities in line with agreed plans to ensure the achievement of personal and team objectives.
- Running reports to extract and analyse data in Excel and Power-BI.

About You
- Knowledge of Insurance or Reinsurance business (essential)
- Facultative Reinsurance experience (essential)
- Captive / Co-Reinsurance experience (advantageous)
- A high level of numeracy and literacy.
- Ability to prioritise work to demanding deadlines.
- Knowledge of business processes.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Organisational and analytical skills, and the ability to prioritise work.
- Experience using DCXL (advantageous)
