Join us as a Relationship Director in our Relationship Management team and make a real impact by helping ambitious businesses achieve their growth ambitions through our award-winning human digital banking model.

What's the Opportunity?

This is a permanent opportunity to join our Relationship Management team based in Birmingham.

As Relationship Director, you will play a leading role in delivering the Bank's regional growth strategy, managing a portfolio of business customers (£5m-£60m lending) whilst leading and developing a small team. Your work will help drive sustainable business growth, maintain strong risk standards, and deliver exceptional customer outcomes.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced relationship banker who enjoys building long-term client relationships, developing people, and identifying opportunities to support businesses at every stage of their journey.

You will enjoy hybrid working, with 4 days in our Birmingham office and 1 day from home.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Deliver sustainable portfolio growth and income performance in line with the Bank's Business Banking strategy.
  • Proactively manage and develop a portfolio of business customers (£5m-£60m lending).
  • Maximise new lending opportunities and drive product uptake with existing customers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key business partners and stakeholders.
  • Independently assess and prepare high-quality lending proposals.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to ensure the Bank remains competitive.
  • Ensure full compliance with AML, KYC, and regulatory requirements.
  • Champion a high-quality customer experience and continuous process improvement.
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members to achieve individual and collective success.

What You Will Bring

  • Proven experience in Business, Commercial, or Corporate Banking relationship management.
  • Demonstrable experience managing a lending portfolio within the SME, Commercial, or Corporate Banking market.
  • Strong credit assessment and lending structuring capabilities across a range of transactions.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Sound understanding of risk, governance, AML, and KYC frameworks.
  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing colleagues.
  • Ability to motivate others and build high-performing teams.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and driving results.
  • Experience managing and developing a small team, including responsibility for an Associate Director and Associate.
