Our International Wealth and Premier Banking (IWPB) business serves over 40 million customers globally, ranging from retail customers to ultra-high net worth individuals and their families. We help them to take care of their day-to-day finances and manage, protect and grow their wealth.
At HSBC’s Global Private Bank, we work with some of the world’s most affluent clients (Ultra-High-Net-Worth), helping them grow, manage and protect their wealth across investments, lending and long-term financial planning.

What You'll Do
You’ll work with private banking clients and the teams who support them, including Relationship Managers, Investment Counsellors and Credit Advisers. You could help review client portfolios, build your understanding of asset classes, financial products and credit solutions, and support work linked to lending, advisory services and loan structuring. You may also use Excel to create or interpret client and portfolio reports, support prospecting and reporting activity, and gradually build confidence in client meetings. It’s a role where you’ll work closely with experienced colleagues and gain practical exposure to how private banking relationships are managed.
What You'll Learn
This programme combines structured training, professional qualifications and rotational learning to give you a rounded private banking skillset. You’ll begin with technical and behavioural training, then continue developing through on-the-job learning across three six-month rotations that give you a broader view of the Private Bank. During the programme, you’ll complete the Investment Advice Diploma (IAD) and may also have the option to work towards the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification. Alongside technical knowledge, you’ll strengthen your understanding of investments, lending and client portfolio management in a high-trust environment. By the end, you’ll have stronger financial knowledge, sharper client judgement and a clearer foundation for a career in private banking.

Where You'll Work
You’ll work in Private Banking within International Wealth and Premier Banking, alongside Relationship Managers, Investment Counsellors and Credit Advisers who support high-net-worth clients. It’s a relationship-led environment where different specialists come together to deliver a tailored client experience. You’ll be part of a professional office culture that values discretion, teamwork and high standards. Expect a collaborative setting where trust matters, detail counts and colleagues work closely together to support complex client needs.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, you must:
- Be available to work full time from July 2027 onwards
- Have you obtained, or expect to achieve, a 2:1 degree classification or higher, or an overseas equivalent
- Will have completed studies by July 2027
- Be fluent in English
