Relationship Manager - London Corporate Banking

Join a well-established international bank as a Relationship Manager within its London Corporate Banking team, managing lending transactions from origination through to credit approval, execution, and ongoing portfolio management. The role offers exposure across a broad range of UK corporate clients and transactions within a lean team where individuals are given significant responsibility and ownership.

Operating with a lean and highly collaborative team structure, the bank provides employees with significant autonomy, broad transaction exposure, and the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across all aspects of the lending lifecycle.

Description

As a Relationship Manager, you will support the growth and management of a portfolio of corporate clients whilst contributing to the origination, assessment, and execution of lending opportunities.

You will be responsible for developing and generating your own lending opportunities through existing corporate, banking, and professional networks, whilst managing a portfolio of established client relationships.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing relationships with corporate clients and banking counterparties.
  • Identifying and evaluating new lending opportunities.
  • Preparing detailed credit applications, annual reviews, and financial analysis.
  • Presenting transactions and recommendations to internal credit stakeholders.
  • Managing ongoing portfolio monitoring and client reviews.
  • Supporting transaction execution, documentation, and deal closing processes.
  • Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders including lawyers, credit teams, treasury, and senior management.
  • Contributing to broader team initiatives and projects within a small-team environment.

Profile

We are interested in speaking with Corporate Banking professionals who combine strong credit skills with relationship management experience.

Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate:

  • Several years' experience within Corporate Banking, Corporate Credit, or Relationship Management.
  • Strong experience analysing and structuring corporate lending transactions.
  • A proven track record of preparing and presenting credit applications.
  • Experience managing corporate banking portfolios and ongoing client relationships.
  • Exposure to investment grade and crossover corporate clients.
  • Strong financial analysis and credit assessment capabilities.
  • The ability to work independently and manage transactions from initial opportunity through to execution.
  • Exposure to loan documentation, transaction management, and deal execution would be advantageous.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach suited to a small, entrepreneurial team environment.
