The Role

At Praetura we believe in a founder-first approach, and we offer invoice finance and asset-based lending options to help companies reach their full potential. We support businesses right across the UK and in every sector, from challengers to mature market leaders, throughout their business journey.

We assess, create and deliver innovative funding strategies to put businesses in the best position for the future. We offer relationship-led (but technology-enabled) lending; commercial finance run by entrepreneurs, for entrepreneurs.

The Relationship Manager will work closely with a Client Executive and other members of the Praetura team to provide excellent levels of client service and communication, undertaking high-quality risk management in all aspects of take on, in life, and recovery (where necessary) in accordance with Praetura documented processes, to manage Client Relationships and support new business growth.

Key aspects of the role include

  • To ensure the security and profitability of Praetura through efficient and effective client monitoring of a portfolio of invoice finance (factoring, invoice discounting and recruitment finance) and asset-based lending clients and analysing of key trends and acting on them. Also to be responsible for the efficient, accurate and effective processing of invoices, credit notes, customer payments, refunds and client payments, as well as the ID month-end reconciliation process
  • To implement and maintain excellent standards of client service
  • To ensure the transition from prospect to client is managed effectively with sales & underwriting team, accurately and is a positive experience for the new client
  • To ensure the recovery of Praetura advances in the event of client failure speedily and professionally through recovery of sales ledger, and via other security as needed. Liaise with Praetura panel solicitors and insolvency practitioners
  • Support new business efforts through Introducer/Prospect visits to support the sales team and effective, high-quality underwriting
  • To establish and maintain a professional and efficient relationship with their allocated portfolio of clients
  • To represent the interests of Praetura internally and externally and provide flexible support in all required areas as the business grows
  • To review client management information against financial projections, monitor headroom levels with cash flow forecasts on an agreed basis and drive action plans if required in conjunction with Relationship Director. Ensure follow-up actions decided upon during review are completed
  • To ensure appropriate practices and procedures are followed to protect the security within the portfolio and that security is maintained at all times within the systems operated by Praetura
  • Agree individual operational & procedural systems with clients within agreed Praetura service offering parameters. Set operational & facility targets & conditions of clients
  • Monitor, review and approve in line with Praetura authority levels, funding to agreed parameters, recommending changes where appropriate
  • To review client performance regularly in conjunction with Relationship Director (if required), 3-month health checks, client reviews and report in writing with regard to any remedial action
  • To ensure that best practice is both shared and implemented within Praetura

  • Experience in a similar role is essential
  • Experience within commercial finance or asset-based lending is preferred
